How To Keep Designer Hand Bags Looking Brand New

Women carry their purses just about everywhere, including into public restrooms, sporting events, smoky bars and even preschool classrooms. Inevitably, the most carried bags end up being accidentally set in a mystery puddle or being touched by sticky hands, so in order to keep their bags looking like new women need to know how to properly care for their favorite designer hand bags.

Cleaning Purses Properly

Proper cleaning methods for purses varies depending on the bag and material it is made out of. Sometimes discount designer bags come with cleaning instructions, which are helpful when its time to clean up a bag. Nylon bags are perhaps the easiest to care for because they are more durable and water resistant. Standard home cleaning products can be used to scrub off any stains, which makes tackling a stain a piece of cake. Take note; before scrubbing down the nylon bag, be sure and test a small corner of the bag just in case discoloring occurs. Moreover, with Nylon discount designer bags, you can even take preventative measures — spray your bag with Teflon or ScotchGuard.

Leather purses pose a bit of a challenge when it comes to sprucing them up because cleaning them can alter their color or appearance. Also, it is important to note that leather designer hand bags should never be cleaned with home cleaning products. Instead, determine what type of stain is on the leather and then go from there. For example, new blood or food stains can be cleaned with a damp cloth, but an oil or grease based stain can be cleaned by placing an absorbent material, such as chalk, on the stain for about a day. For specifics on leather care and stain removal, it is wise to contact leather specialists to ensure that you don’t accidentally cause your discount designer bags more harm than good.

When it comes to cloth purses, it is best to take them to be treated at a trusted dry cleaner. This is recommended because if a stain is accidentally rubbed into the fabric when it is being cleaned by a novice it could ruin the bag forever.

More Tips

To ensure that your designer hand bags don’t need to be cleaned too often, be conscious of which bag you take with you for a day at the zoo or a night out on the town. If you think there’s a good chance that you might set your purse down in an unexpected substance, then be sure to take an easy-to-clean purse out with you. Also, regularly checking over your bags for spots or stains can help you tackle stains early, which means they’ll be easier to get out in the long run.

by Matt Chang

The Internet is a great place to buy things. You can get just about everything off the Internet. One of the things that many women are turning to the online world for our clothing and accessories. One of the most popular items to buy online is a cheap coach handbag. However, with any good saying, comes the bad.

As the popularity and ease of purchase has been made through the Internet, a lot of people are looking to make a quick buck and are selling fake coach handbags. So how do you know if your Coach handbag is a fake? Here are a few things to look for.

First off, buy From a reputable source. There are some places where you can buy great authentic handbags, and those places would be authentic authorized bag resellers, the actual Coach store online, and of course eBay. The key thing to look for when you’re choosing a reputable source is that the person selling the bag will guarantee it. The important thing about buying on eBay, is that they have a high reputation, and you can inspect the feedback from all of the sellers.

If someone was a scam or does not last long eBay. When you buy your hand bag, make sure the bag is stated as being authentic. Some stores will have an area of for knock off handbags and an area for real ones. Make sure you are in the right section of the online store. Just because it is expensive does not mean it is authentic.

Ebay and many other auction sites no longer allow people to sell fake handbags, so it can be little bit easier to be comfortable with what you’re buying.

Inspect the interior. The inside of the handbag can tell you a lot about how well it was made. A real top Coach handbag is perfectly constructed inside and out. Because of the high standards, any flaws never make it to the sales floor.

The stitching will be perfect and everything will appear seamless and perfect everywhere on the bag, including inside all the pockets. Most cheap knock offs do not take the time to do a good job on interior stitching. This is one of the easiest ways to tell this by looking inside. Of course, if you’re going to buy online it’s going to be tough to do, but many sellers take pictures of the inside and the outside.

Inspect the exterior. This is getting harder to do as fake purse makers are getting better and better at making imposter bags. A lot of knock offs now use real leather, even the good stuff. But there are still things you can check. Take a look at the zipper. Coach handbags are made with the most sturdy zipper available, and the zipper should be stamped with a YKK. These are the initials of the Chinese company that makes the best actors are out there.

When you look at the stitching, all of this that she should be very even. All of this seems should line up perfectly, and all of the material cuts should line up just to write. If you get any sense that the balance of the bag is off, or something looks suspicious then you probably have a fake handbag. One of the biggest telltale signs of a cheap handbag is the patterns of the -C-. The curves around the letters should be even and smooth, many fake Coach handbags have a jagged look around the letter. If you are getting any of that or you’re seeing any of that and you should walk away. All Coach handbags also have serial numbers. You should be able to ask for an inspect the serial number.

The last tip in getting a good handbag, is to consider buying the same way that Craig’s list suggests. If you going to buy a used handbag, and this is something that you are new to, buy local. That way, you can actually meet up with the person and take a look at the bag live. If the person looks suspicious then you probably got a problem. Many women who are selling are used Coach handbags so that they can fuel their new handbags will have the receipt and can tell you all about the history of the bag.

One of the top designers in terms of travel bags and leather goods is Louis Vuitton. If one of your goals is to enhance your wardrobe then Louis Vuitton handbags are definitely a must-have. You can choose from several different varieties of bags, and the new up and coming season brings about great new designs from the manufacturer that you will love, no matter what your style. This article goes into some information about the new arrivals, in addition to the best places to buy your new purse.

Wallets by Louis Vuitton are just as fashionable as the purses, and there are a quite few styles that are available as well. You can buy the conventional design wallet, which is dark brown leather with the tan Louis Vuitton symbols appearing throughout the wallet. The Pochette is another type of Louis Vuitton wallets for you to take a look at; the wallets are small enough in size for you to carry anywhere, but will certainly fit all your important items, so some individuals just use it as a small purse.

Various Lines and Styles

Louis Vuitton handbags are classic in style, but the appearance is always changed somewhat in order to give you something fresh and new to select from for the season. The Tivoli GM, for instance, has the classic Louis Vuitton print, but is has a shape similar to a bowling bag, giving you extra room to store your items. The purse also has base studs so that you can sit it on the floor or other flat surface without having to concern yourself about it tumbling over.

The Palermo PM is one of the new Louis Vuitton handbags that is excellent for traveling, since it comes equipped with an added strap for you to wear across the shoulder in case you are carrying any heavy items in the bag, but the Beverly handbag line is smaller and more pragmatic for everyday use. It has a more vintage shape to it, and is very feminine. These bags all have a similar print, but the design and shape of them make them oriented to different styles and preferences.

Places To Research and Buy

If you want to find out where you can purchase Louis Vuitton handbags, you can visit the designer online resource at Louisvuitton to get descriptions of each handbag and to find out about the various costs and other great Louis Vuitton accessories. You can also visit the online destination Handbagcrew and Overstock to find reduced prices on wallets and purses by the designer. You can also discover other great designers on these sites that have the same quality, and you will be able to see just how much you will save by buying on these sites–the prices you would actually pay in a department store are ordinarily much more. Happy shopping!

Zac Posen Patent Apple Clutch, Handbag of the Day
Filed under: HandbagsSometimes I like a bag more for the name than anything else, and although this Zac Posen Patent Apple Clutch is certainly cute I think this is one of the those times — “patent apple clutch” is just such a fun sounding title! Anyway, getting to the bag itself it’s another patent leather variety but the glam of the shine is toned down somewhat by the earthiness of the poppy and midnight blue color options. Features include a kiss lock closure and suede lining, plus the front flap opens to reveal an extra pocket. $795 %Gallery-22690%Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

Celine Nautil Bag, Handbag of the Day

Filed under: HandbagsThe Celine Nautil bag is about both bold bright fashion and practical functionality. Available in classic ruby red or crisp bright white, the Nautil is made of crinkled patent leather so it shines (but doesn’t blind!). It also features contoured top seams, polished silver hardware, handles attached with clasps (8″ drop), and my favorite handbag quality: a flat base so it sits upright. And the brand logo is everywhere on this bag: engraved onto the medallion on the front and on the studs used throughout, embossed on a leather tag inside, and incorporated into the pattern of the interior textile lining. David Chu’s Chic Take on Tumi

Hot News No Comments »

Filed under: Handbags, Men’s Style With his newly-released Fall 2008 collections for Tumi, Nautica founder David Chu is continuing the revitalization of the travel brand begun when he was named its creative director last year. Since his appointment, Chu has launched various new collections including the Alpha, using Tumi’s signature black ballistic nylon, and the upscale Townhouse Collection for men. He has given the company an image makeover as well with new high-style ad campaigns featuring supermodel Shalom Harlow and an array of classic sportscars (see above). For Fall 2008, Chu has made an appropriately seasonal modification to the spring Townhouse line, which featured khaki cotton twill and saddle leather. The Fall collection is rendered in a gray covert cloth that’s a hallmark of classic British tailoring. As a counterpart, he has introduced new designs for women as well. We’re also big fans of Chu’s eponymous luxury menswear line, which he started after VF Corp. acquired Nautica for $585 million in 2004. Obviously Chu, who personally made over $100 million on the deal, could have just retired then and there, but we’re definitely glad he decided to keep working. More

Filed under: HandbagsI love vintage Chanel bags, truly timeless, they never go out of style, if anything they seem to get more fabulous with each passing year! However they always sell out at vintage shops so it can be quite hard to get your hands on one, thankfully with the Internet, haute purse collecting has gotten easier. This black shoulder bag in patent leather crocodile print is one of the nicest collectible bags I’ve seen. Details include two outside pockets and a top zipper closure. It’s available online for $4639! Pricey but well worth every penny. More

Recreated in true-to-detail oil-tanned leather this bag is styled to be historically correct and match what U.S. postal workers carried from 1868 to the 1970s (when they switched over to blue nylon bags). Hand-oiled, hand-stained, hand-riveted, and sewn in the techniques of old, this bag will not only last a lifetime but it will get better and better as the years go by. $795Via GizmodoRead | Permalink | Email this | Comments More
